Description
A delicious homemade version of the popular Chick-fil-A crispy chicken sandwich, featuring juicy chicken marinated in buttermilk and fried to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Oil for frying
- 4 sandwich buns
- Lettuce and tomato for topping
- Pickles for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the buttermilk and pickle juice together.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, cover it, and let them marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- After marinating, take the chicken out of the buttermilk mixture and coat each piece in the flour mixture.
- Fry the chicken in the hot oil for 6-8 minutes per side, or until they are golden and crispy.
- While the chicken is frying, toast the sandwich buns.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the crispy chicken on the buns and adding lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Marinating the chicken overnight intensifies the flavors. Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying, and don’t overcrowd the skillet.
