Description

A hearty, comforting dish that combines the beloved flavors of pierogies and kielbasa, all cooked conveniently in one pot.


Ingredients

  • 3 packages of Mrs. T’s cheddar pierogies
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the kielbasa into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. In the crockpot, place half of the packages of Mrs. T’s cheddar pierogies at the bottom.
  3. Distribute the sliced kielbasa evenly over the layer of pierogies.
  4. Spoon in the cream cheese, allowing it to sit on the kielbasa and pierogies.
  5. Pour in 3 cups of chicken broth, fully covering the ingredients for even cooking.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top and season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  7. Add the remaining pierogies on top, followed by the remaining kielbasa, cream cheese, another 1 cup of chicken broth, and finish with the last bit of shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or on high for 240 minutes (4 hours), until the pierogies are tender and the cheese has melted.
  9. Before serving, gently stir everything together to incorporate the flavors.

Notes

Can be paired with a simple green salad or crusty bread. Freezes beautifully for easy reheating.
