Description

A delicious and easy dish prepared the night before, perfect for busy mornings or brunch with warm croissants, eggs, and cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or gruyere)
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey sausage or chicken sausage, crumbled (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (e.g., chives, parsley)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Layer the torn croissants in the baking dish. Add cheese, sausage if using, and herbs.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant mixture, making sure it’s well coated.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. In the morning, remove from the refrigerator and let sit for 20 minutes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until set and golden on top.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for better texture. Customize the filling with your favorite vegetables.
