- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the green beans by trimming and rinsing them under cold water. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter until melted.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Toss in the mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and softened.
- Add green beans, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
- Cover the skillet and let cook for 5-7 minutes until beans are tender but crisp, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the lid, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, and stir until it melts and coats the vegetables.
- Add lemon juice and stir well to combine.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish, garnishing with parsley if desired.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Don’t overcook the green beans. Feel free to add other vegetables or seasonings for variety.
