Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the green beans by trimming and rinsing them under cold water. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter until melted.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Toss in the mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and softened.
  5. Add green beans, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and stir to combine.
  6. Cover the skillet and let cook for 5-7 minutes until beans are tender but crisp, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove the lid, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, and stir until it melts and coats the vegetables.
  8. Add lemon juice and stir well to combine.
  9. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish, garnishing with parsley if desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Don’t overcook the green beans. Feel free to add other vegetables or seasonings for variety.
