Ingredients

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk (110°F)
¼ cup sugar
2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter, melted
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
**For the Savory Filling**
2 tbsp butter
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 scrambled eggs
Optional: finely chopped mushrooms or spinach
**For the Optional Glaze**
½ cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add the yeast mixture to butter, egg, and salt. Slowly mix in flour until soft dough forms.
3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Punch down and roll dough into a 12×8 inch rectangle.
6. Spread with butter and your choice of filling. Roll up tightly and cut into 9–12 pieces.
7. Place rolls in a greased pan, cover, and let rise for 30–45 minutes.
8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
9. For sweet rolls, drizzle with glaze. For savory, brush with melted butter.
10. Serve warm and enjoy!
