Description

A creamy, spicy Cajun sauce that adds flavor to pasta, chicken, and vegetables, perfect for quick meals.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped (or ¼ cup red onion)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarian option)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and shallot; sauté until soft and fragrant (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Stir in heavy cream and broth, then simmer for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Add Cajun seasoning, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Simmer for another 3 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until it’s melted and smooth.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Adjust the level of spiciness by modifying the cayenne and Cajun seasoning.
