Delicious homemade rolls perfect for sandwiches or enjoyed fresh with butter.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 grams Bread Flour
- 350 ml Water (warm)
- 10 grams Salt
- 7 grams Yeast (instant or active dry)
- 50 grams Flour (for dusting)
- Optional: Sesame Seeds or Poppy Seeds
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, salt, and yeast separately.
- Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and roll each portion into a ball.
- Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top if desired, just before baking.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure your water is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast. Knead well for better texture.
