Description

Delicious homemade rolls perfect for sandwiches or enjoyed fresh with butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams Bread Flour
  • 350 ml Water (warm)
  • 10 grams Salt
  • 7 grams Yeast (instant or active dry)
  • 50 grams Flour (for dusting)
  • Optional: Sesame Seeds or Poppy Seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the bread flour, salt, and yeast separately.
  2. Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and roll each portion into a ball.
  6. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  8. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top if desired, just before baking.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure your water is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast. Knead well for better texture.
