Description

A soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet bread perfect for sandwiches, toast, or enjoying with butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and condensed milk to the flour, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Brush with melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Make sure the water is warm to activate the yeast. Knead well for the best texture.
