Description

A delightful treat that combines the cozy flavors of cinnamon and sugar with the comforting texture of bread, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8½ x 4½-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until well mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. Brush the warm loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
